Breakfast was excellent. The hotel also. There is nothing I can fault the hotel for, except the pillows and mattress were a bit too firm, apart from that it was perfect.

Northampton is one of England’s largest towns and has appeared in writing since the 10th century. The large medieval market square has an array of stalls 5 days a week, and nearby are the Market Walk and Grosvenor shopping centres. A larger retail and entertainment site is out of the town centre near Sixfields Stadium, home of Northampton Town FC. The Northampton Saints rugby union team play nearby, and Silverstone is south-west of the M1.
To the east is Billing Aquadrome, a marina complex with go karting, minigolf and a miniature railway. A smaller marina is along the River Nene in Becket’s Park, overlooked by 78 Derngate, a Grade II-listed house redesigned by Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Other notable buildings are the Guildhall and colonnaded All Saints Church. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre dates to 1100 and is one of England’s largest round churches.
On the outskirts of town, by one of several golf courses, is Delapre Abbey, and to the north are other historic mansions of Coton Manor, Cottesbrooke Hall and the most famous of them all - Althorp House, the final resting place of Princess Diana.
The Northampton accommodation on Booking.com includes hotels with swimming pools, alongside apartment and guest house options near the train station and university.

Northampton is not everyone's idea of a tourist heritage attraction but it has a lot going for it -four historic churches, two chapels with connections to the 18th century revival, some excellent pubs and a magnificent Victorian town hall. It also has excellent public transport connections and in my various stays over the years I have visited Towcester and Nuneaton (during the recent trip) plus Kettering, Wellingborough, Earls Barton, Brixworth, Market Harborough, Kenilworth, Long Buckby and Rugby on previous visits

The surrounding areas were nice and I was at a conference at Delepre Abbey which is well worth a visit, the grounds are lovely and you can take your children for a run around or your dogs. Picnics in the summer would be lovely.

I formerly lived in Northampton and was staying over night to meet with family. As a town it has changed significantly from my child hood and whilst attractions in the town could be considered limited, there are interesting places to see and it acts a good based to visit other attractions in the surrounding area.

We used to live in Northampton some years back and the changes were a shock to the system. The volume of road works was staggering. More cones and detour’s then the M6 in the 80’s. The town center covered in chewing gum pats everywhere. Most of the big stores had closed down and large shop area closed off.
It is very well located, next to a park, walking distance to the town center. The places looks dated, although I think it’s charming, and it was perfectly clean. Lots of storage space in the room, new TV, a kettle and selection of tea and coffee, cookies, little fridge, I couldn’t ask for more. And let’s not forget about the breakfast - very generous and delicious, cooked to order. Overall, this hotel offers a tremendous value.
All staff from receptionists to cleaning staff were so helpful, friendly, welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was comfortable, exceptionally clean and tea/coffee station was well stocked. Great location and even being in town centre there was absolutely no noise at all ! So we had a perfect night's sleep ! Will definitely be returning and will highly recommend this hotel.
The location of the apartment was great, only a 5 minute walk from Northampton Town Centre. The apartment overall was also very comfortable and modern, and a great size for 2 people. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The windows were also a bonus as you could either tilt them or open them fully. The Smart TV was also another little bonus.
Reception and staff welcoming. Lovely bar area
Hotel room huge, big TV, comfortable lage bed
No lift if mobility issues, so woukd recommend ground floor room.
Did not have dinner or spa facilities as meeting family, only 1 night stay
Breakfast is one of the best we have had from a hotel, buffet style. Would definitely stay again to enjoy swimming pool
Fantastic breakfast .. a little different you get all items shown on the daily menu .. a great selections of small plates eg smoked salmon , scrambled eggs, maple bacon etc. Hotel decor was all finished to exceptional high standards . Super staff nothing was to much trouble for them and they all were very proud of working at the Falcon.
An old train station hotel, now missing it’s station, the property is easy to find, clean and comfortable. the interior has been modernized over the years so it lacks much of the ‘Olde English’ charm that is shown in the exterior. The staff are very friendly, the restaurant is excellent and the included breakfast was also very good.
The room was very clean and comfortable with really good sound proofing between rooms. All staff I encountered were professional and friendly. Location is difficult without a car of your own but the connections from the hotel to the Northampton city centre is good and only about 6-8 pounds in a cab if you don't want a bus.
This flat was in an ideal location for our requirements close to 2 good supermarkets petrol station and within 3 miles of Northampton Cricket Club. The flat was very modern and beautifully decorated. it was lovely.
Room was lovely and bed very comfy. On arrival lovely lady on reception who was very helpful.
Also close the town centre only a short walk or buses were available just outside hotel and every 10mins
Perfectly placed for visiting surrounding area, staff very friendly - breakfast was an added bonus - room was spotlessly clean and comfy bed - would most definitely use this hotel again.
The best thing about this hotel is its location. Only a few minutes walk from town centre.
Breakfast was OK... I asked for no beans but was served beans but no tomato.
The room was ok, except it was freezing cold. They had to bring a space heater in for us to use.
I believe that the hotel has turned off the heating, to save $$$.
Overall a great hotel, good facilities( free parking, free Wi-Fi) and the food was excellent.
The hotel is close to the town centre and easy access to other routes.
Lovely 2 days stay while working in Northampton. Best hotel I've stayed in for value. Food was decent, staff very helpful and generally a nice place to stay.
